Terms of Use

Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using the Blade Scorecard mobile application ("App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and [Your Name / Company Name] ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU) and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
2. Description of Service
Blade Scorecard is a golf scoring and statistics application that allows users to:
- Log and track golf rounds and scores
- Record shot locations using GPS
- View statistics and round history
- Connect with friends and view a shared leaderboard
- Manage their club bag configuration
The App is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future with appropriate notice.
3. Account Registration
Creating an account
You may register using an email address and password, or via Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Accuracy of information
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep your profile information up to date.
Account security
You must notify us immediately at [your@email.com] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
One account per person
You may not create more than one account per person. Accounts are non-transferable.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent scores or data.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its infrastructure.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to interact with the App.
- Harass, impersonate, or harm other users.
- Use the App for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.
5. User Content
Your content
You retain ownership of the data you submit to the App (scores, notes, photos). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the App's features to you.
Responsibility for content
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of scores and data you submit. We do not verify the accuracy of user-submitted golf scores.
Prohibited content
You must not upload content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, or that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party.
6. Friends and Social Features
The App allows you to connect with other users by username. By accepting a friend request, you agree to share your round history with that user within the App's leaderboard and feed features. You can remove a friend at any time, which will stop sharing future rounds.
We are not responsible for interactions between users. If you experience abuse or harassment from another user, contact us at [your@email.com].
7. Location Data
Certain features (shot markers, course maps) require access to your device's GPS. Use of these features is voluntary. You can disable location access in your device settings at any time. Refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how location data is handled.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, trademarks, and branding in the App — excluding user-submitted data — are owned by or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written permission.
The aesthetic used in the App's design is an original creative work. The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any golf club.
9. Third-Party Services
The App integrates third-party services including Supabase (data storage), Sentry (error reporting), Mapbox (maps), OpenWeatherMap (weather), and Apple (authentication). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services.
10. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
- The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable.
- Any defects in the App will be corrected.
Golf handicap calculations, if any, are provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for official handicap records. For official handicap purposes, consult your local golf association.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (or €100 if no amount was paid).
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless [Your Name / Company Name] and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
13. Termination
By you

We may suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we discontinue the App. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
14. Changes to the App and Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time without liability. We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Country / Finland], without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the App shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [Your City / Helsinki].

16. Apple App Store Additional Terms
If you downloaded the App via the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for any claims by you or a third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, consumer protection claims, or intellectual property infringement claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Your use of the App must comply with Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
